Although next summer’s Ruisrock might seem like something far away at this point, arrangements are already underway with all guns blazing. We will announce a set of bands this early for the first time, we are proud to present the following acts at Ruisrock 2009, July 3rd – 5th:
DISTURBED (USA)
Having sold altogether over 10 million records worldwide, Disturbed swept the board with their 2002 album ”Believe” that debuted no. 1 on the official U.S. album charts, Just in time to boost the release of their latest full-length ”Indestructible”, Disturbed played a sold-out gig at the Helsinki Ice Hall a few weeks ago.
VOLBEAT (DEN)
Danish ”Elvis metal” band Volbeat are experiencing a busy era as they’ve never experienced it before! Having topped the Finnish album charts with their third album ”Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood” last summer, Volbeat are making their name known all around the world. With already one successful Finnish tour behind them, the band return to Finland to play five sold-out shows later in the winter.
LADYTRON (UK)
One of the most successful electro bands in the new millennium, Ladytron are also amongst the most popular bands of their genre in Finland. With altogether four albums behind them, the band’s latest, ”Velocifero” was released in spring 2008. Nowadays, Ladytron’s dark combination of electro and indie is closer to Depeche Mode and the golden age of The Human League than the typical dance music of today. Ladytron performs today at sold-out Tavastia.
CALEXICO (USA)
Founded in the beginning of the 90’s, Calexico is considered as one of the most important American alternative bands today. The band are known for their original sound that combines guitar-driven indie rock, Ennio Morricone –style western atmosphere and americana-tradition. More act announcements to be followed late winter, the whole bill will be given out in spring.
Ruisrock’s traditional Christmas tickets are for sale now. A limited edition of three-day tickets for Ruisrock 2009 is for sale at all box offices of Tiketti for the price of EUR 100.50 (incl. handling charge).
